Facility Overview
The HBKU Genomics Core Facility is equipped with advanced technologies, including various Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) platforms, single-cell technology, array platform, capillary sequencing technology, Nanostring nCounter Technology and Digital PCR technology.
Our core services include:
- Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS): Whole genome, whole exome, RNA sequencing, and metagenomics for comprehensive genetic and transcriptomic analysis.
- Single-Cell Sequencing: Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) for gene expression at the individual cell level and ATAC-seq for chromatin accessibility analysis.
- Epigenomics & Gene Regulation: ChIP-seq for protein-DNA interactions, MeDIP-Seq for DNA methylation analysis, bisulfite sequencing for DNA methylation mapping, and chromatin accessibility assays for insights into gene regulation.
- Genotyping & Microarrays: SNP genotyping for genetic variation, methylation arrays for epigenetic profiling, and gene expression arrays for large-scale gene expression analysis.
- Genetic Analyzer: Sanger sequencing for targeted DNA analysis and STR profiling for forensic and genetic diversity studies.
- Nanostring nCounter Technology: A platform for high-precision gene expression analysis and multiplex biomarker profiling.
- Digital PCR (dPCR): Genotyping, gene expression analysis, and detection of copy number variations with high sensitivity, including from liquid biopsies.
Our facility is committed to supporting cutting-edge research across various fields, including human health, cancer biology, neuroscience, metabolic disorders, and environmental science. We work closely with researchers to optimize experimental designs and ensure high-quality data generation for impactful scientific outcomes.
