    Biography

    Dr. Fatima Ghassan Alabtah is a dedicated researcher specializing in Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing, Additive Manufacturing (AM), Material and Corrosion Science. With a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Qatar University (2021), she has developed a rich academic and research background rooted in advanced materials development, process optimization, and applied sustainability.

    Dr. Alabtah currently leads and collaborates on multidisciplinary projects focused on process–structure–property–performance relationships in AM systems. Her work spans LPBF, BMD, DED, and composite-based AM technologies, integrating electrochemical, mechanical and advanced microstructural characterization techniques to optimize performance in critical applications. Her research outputs include numerous peer-reviewed journal publications in leading materials and manufacturing journals, and she has been an invited speaker and contributor at international conferences such as the AM Conclave Middle East and the QatarEnergy LNG Engineering Forum. Her doctoral research was recognized with the Outstanding Dissertation Award and the Distinguished Student Award at Qatar University.

    In addition to her technical contributions, Dr. Alabtah is passionate about mentoring students, promoting experiential learning, and strengthening academia–industry collaborations. She has played a key role in developing state-of-the-art labs and research infrastructure.
