    Biography

    Eleni Polymenopoulou is an Associate Professor at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, College of Law (Qatar Foundation) and Adjunct Associate Professor at Georgetown University Qatar. She has received a Bachelor of Laws (University of Athens, 2004); a diploma in Applied Arts, Comics and Illustration (Ornerakis School of Art, Athens, 2003); a Master in Human Rights Law (University of Grenoble-Alps, 2004); and a PhD in Human Rights and International Law (University of Grenoble-Alpes, 2011). Before her current appointment she has practiced law, and has also advised and collaborated with several NGOs, including the Greek Council for Refugees(GCR), Article19 and the International Press Institute (IPI). In 2019, she received a honorary research fellowship award at University College London (UCL-Qatar) for her project on Islamic law and heritage. Her most recent book is Artistic Freedom in International law (CUP 2023). She is currently working on a research project at the intersection of culture, religion, and human rights law in the Middle East.
