Biography

Dr. Jens Schneider is an associate professor in the Division of Information and Computing Technolog at the College of Science and Engineering of HBKU.
He received his diploma in Computer Science from RWTH Aachen, Germany, in 2004 and his doctorate in Computer Science from Technical University Munich, Germany, in 2009.

His main research interests is Visual Computing. This includes interactive and GPU-based visualization, GPU-friendly data compression, Hierarchical and parallel algorithms, as well as Artificial intelligence, especially Computer vision.

Teams led by Dr. Schneider have won the IEEE Visualization contest two consecutive years, 2005 and 2006. He has coauthored four papers that have received best paper awards. He is a member of IEEE and ACM as well as the invitational Scientific Research Honor Society Sigma Xi.
