Biography

Dr. Rezaee is an accomplished physicist and entrepreneur currently serving as the Lab Manager at the Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2). He has been instrumental in the establishment and development of QC2, contributing significantly to its growth from its inception.

In addition to his role at QC2, Dr. Rezaee leads the national team for quantum technologies at Mitacs, where he drives collaborative innovation in quantum science and its applications. He earned his PhD in Physics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2015, and subsequently held postdoctoral positions at Texas A&M University and the University of Ottawa. At the University of Ottawa, he played a pivotal role in founding the Joint Centre for Extreme Photonics (JCEP) lab, a collaborative initiative with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC).

Dr. Rezaee's research focuses on cutting-edge areas, including novel quantum light sources, nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond for quantum sensing, and quantum simulation. His entrepreneurial journey includes graduating from the Creative Destruction Lab-QML program at the Rotman School of Business (2017) and participating in the prestigious Y Combinator W19 cohort in California.
