Abstract
This research project aims to enhance post-discharge cardiac monitoring for chest pain patients in Qatar's emergency departments (EDs) by integrating wearable electrocardiogram (ECG) devices into care pathways. Despite advances in risk stratification tools, accurately identifying acute coronary syndrome (ACS) cases remains challenging. This study will evaluate the prevalence of ECG abnormalities among chest pain patients, the effectiveness of existing risk stratification tools, and challenges in follow-up care. Preliminary findings reveal a significant incidence of ECG abnormalities and limitations in current risk assessment methods. The integration of wearable ECG devices offers continuous monitoring, early detection of cardiac abnormalities, and improved risk stratification. This would revolutionize post-discharge care pathways and enhance patient outcomes.
