Abstract
A distributed database server for continuous media is discussed. It includes a general high-dimensional index mechanism to handle the extracted video features and a SR-tree index structure was implemented as high-dimensional access path to the extracted visual features. To support continuous media streaming, it uses search-based buffer management techniques.
