Abstract

In this paper, we presents a fast-start streaming mechanism that eliminates or reduces the initial start-up delay of Internet audio/video streaming applications. The presented method uses a technique that tries to fill-up the jitter compensation buffer of a streaming client at the beginning of a presentation and starts the presentation faster, hence improving user experience.
