Abstract
Experimental work on the removal of basic dyes from aqueous solutions is presented. The equilibrium isotherms are determined to establish the adsorption capacity of carbon for two dyes, Saffranine Red T and Deorlene Yellow. Kinetic studies were undertaken in a batch vessel to investigate four important system variables, i.e. agitation, initial dye concentration, carbon particle size and mass of carbon.
