Abstract

A simple method is described to determine the curves of molecular-mass retention (CMMR) of the ultrafiltration membranes, using narrow fractions of lignosulfonates (a natural polydisperse mixture of lignosulfonic acid salts) isolated by the same ultrafiltration method. The results obtained from determinations of the CMMR using polyethylene glycols and lignosulfonates are compared. It is stated that practically identical results correspond to the conditions, when the calibration measurements are carried out in sodium chloride solutions at values of volume flow 4-12 μm÷s.
