Abstract

Albedo, the diffuse reflectivity of a surface, is an important quantity in photovoltaic (PV) performance evaluation and simulation, especially for bifacial module technologies. Our paper reports on a comparative study of albedo measurements at multiple sites worldwide. The Authors compare state-of-the-art methodologies used within the research cooperative PV CAMPER. Differences are shown of horizontal and plane-of-array rear/front irradiance ratio including different substrates. The potential of rear side irradiance and its seasonal variation at six different test sites worldwide is presented.
