Abstract

The study discussed in this paper is focused on to look for a transportation model which uses a modern approach to solve the problems of existing transportation framework like pollution, road-congestion, energy and fleet management. This study emphasizes transportation based on CASE i.e., connected, automated, shared and electric concept and proposes Autonomous Electric Vehicles (AEVs) as an efficient CASE vehicle. The proposal is made on the basis of features of AEVs and their potential application to design an intelligent transportation system (ITS). Along with its promising features, potential challenges acting as barrier for such ITS system and their possible solutions are also suggested.
