Abstract

The efficiency of bagasse pith for removing dyes from textile industry effluents was studied. The equilibrium saturation capacities for four dyes on the bagasse pith were estimated. The effects on adsorption of temperature and pith particle size range were examined and the data analysed by the Langmuir, Freundlich and Jossens isotherm equations. A brief assessment is given on the implications of the results for the design of agitated batch adsorbers.
