Influence of stoichiometry on phase transition pressure of LiNbO 3

Abstract

Results of Raman and x-ray diffraction studies under high pressures generated in diamond anvil cell of pure lithium niobate with different stoichiometries are reported. It is shown that the pressure at which the phase transition occurs depends on crystal stoichiometry and is strongly reduced as compared with those for LiNb O3 with congruent composition.
