Abstract

Due to the great effectiveness of the newly developed reservoir simulation software, they are currently playing a very important role in the industry all around the world to help extract the hydrocarbon reservoirs which represent more than half of the world’s proven reserves. There is no doubt that the cost of these software is high. Hence, it is crucial to examine the efficiency and the performance of the newly developed reservoir simulation software. The idea of this research is to validate an advanced reservoir simulator called QASR by finding the productivity index and then comparing it with what we know from the literature review conducted in this field. Additionally, investigate how some reservoir properties can influence the calculated value of the productivity index. These properties include the skin, bottom hole pressure, permeability, and well length.
