Abstract

IPL is a declarative distributed language designed to support application level programming in the InterBase project. In this paper, we present the IPL language and show how it supports flexible transactions, mixed transactions, time-constrained transactions and other features. Besides its transaction-oriented features, IPL can be used as a general purpose distributed programming language.
