Abstract

In this paper, we first present a link-bandwidth calculation algorithm that wireless nodes equipped with directional antennas can use to determine the available link bandwidth to any of their neighbors. We then use the linkbandwidth calculation algorithm to propose an end-to-end flow QoS routing scheme for static wireless ad-hoc networks using directional antennas. The proposed routing scheme is an extension of the ad-hoc on-demand distant vector (AODV) routing scheme to include QoS capabilities via the use of the proposed link-bandwidth calculation mechanism.
