Abstract

The preparation of lithium niobate films on periodic poled lithium niobate substrates by liquid phase epitaxy was presented. The film was doped during growth with optically active ions, like rare earth (RE), opening up the possibility of creating a laser-wave-guide. The composition and structure of the films were characterized by wave dispersion X-ray analysis and high resolution X-ray diffraction, respectively.
