Abstract

Reconfigurable antenna is a field of research that adds more degrees of freedom in wireless communication systems to improve their performance, which is based on exploiting the interplay between directional impulse response and reconfigurable antenna patterns. In this work, we show that reconfigurable antenna does not change type of statistical distribution of envelope amplitude of indoor line of sight radio channel but does change distribution parameters in Rician channel. We present models of parameters of Rician distribution as function of antenna polarization parameter. We also present bit error rate comparison based Monte Carlo simulation with theoretical model as function of antenna polarization parameter and show a good matching results of our observation.
