Abstract
The dynamics of optical solitons in birefringent fibers are addressed in this paper. The models are studied with both Kerr and parabolic laws of nonlinearity without four-wave mixing terms. The integration tool is the Lie symmetry approach. Similarity reductions to the derived ordinary differential equations are investigated by Lie classical method. These equations lead to exact solutions that are reported here.
