Abstract

The aim of this project is to study the ability of simultaneous carbon adsorption and ozonation on the removal of colour from peat moorland water. The results are compared with ozonation of the water alone and work using adsorption alone is reported. The data reported are based only on an initial study using a three phase fluidised bed. The simultaneous processes were much better at removing colour than either adsorption or ozonation operating as separate treatment processes.
