Abstract

A number of correlations, based on mathematical equations or graphical correlations, are available to estimate heat losses through furnace walls. A recent paper has reported a computer model to predict the heat transfer loss through a composite wall. This technique utilizes a TI-59 calculator involving almost 800 steps and although the method can be undertaken on a programmable calculator it is somewhat tedious. The objective of this work is to present the previous model using a Fortran program and demonstrate its flexibility.
