Abstract

The 'Abbasid period has long been the focus of study for many researchers and many of the historians of the period itself, or those succeeding it, have written extensively on this topic. Thus, from the period itself until the present time there is a vast body of literature presenting the historical events, which personify this era of history. Bearing this in mind, one may feel a certain amount of surprise to find a new book discussing this period, particularly when the title includes the term 'reinterpreting'.
