Abstract
Six tricyclohexyltin triorganogermyl (substituted) propionates have been synthesized and their structures characterized by IR, multinuclear magnetic resonance 1H, 13C, 119Sn) and Mössbauer spectroscopies. Three of them have been characterized crystallographically by X-ray diffraction. The crystal structures of [(p-CH3C 6H4)3GeCH(p- CH3C6H 4)CH2COOSn(C6H11)3] (1) and [(C6H5)3GeCH(C6H 5)CH(CH3)COOSn(C6H11)3] (3) indicate that the tin possesses a tetrahedral geometry. The crystal structure of [(p-CH3C6H4) 3GeCH(p-CH3OC6H4)CH 2COOSn(C6H11)3]H2O (2) shows trigonal bipyramidal geometry around the tin with water of hydration enhancing the coordination sphere of the metal. Some of these compounds demonstrated positive antibacterial, antifungal and lethality bioassays.
