Abstract

The parameters affecting the mass transfer coefficients for external transport of acid dye (Telon Blue) from water on activated carbon particles have been studied. Surface mass transfer coefficients were found to vary linearly with agitation, initial dye concentration on log-log coordinates, while they varied reciprocally with absolute temperature and are found to be independent of the pH of the dye solution in the range 5. 2 less than pH less than 8. 5.
