Abstract

The fluidisation characteristics of plastic and carrot cylinders have been studied. A comparison of the fluidisation characteristics between these cylinders, spherical particles and other non-spherical particles has been undertaken. A correlation for the friction factor, f "SUB v" , was derived for cylinders having sphericity factors in the range of 0.70 to 0.87. The resistance coefficient, was correlated with the sphericity factor. (from Authors)
